This is actually happening!

A few things happened this week that have made this whole project seem so much more real!

First: We started the application process for the TSA's "Global Entry" program -- essentially TSA Pre-Check for international travelers. Not the worst experience I've ever had with the Federal Government, but so far not one of great joy, either. Thankfully, we are both "conditionally approved" and now just have to drive 300+ miles to the closest major airport for an interview! Chi-town, here we come!

The first equipment order arrives!

Second: The equipment started arriving! Joel is excited! (See photo -- BTWs, the grey blotch on the house is just covering up the house number... You'll have to work harder than that to get my address, Internet!! Also, you'll notice Kitty, the Industrious Lawn Gnome & Keeper of the Front Gardens in the bottom right). So far as I can tell, these boxes include a camera & lenses, a big ol' tripod, and a light. Right now Joel's in the other room saying "Test 1, 2" over & over again -- so I'm thinking there might also have been a microphone included...

We are so excited to start planning the arc of of these videos! We've started talking with several missionaries in Nicaragua and hearing stories of lives changed by the Gospel lived out. The journalist in me has already been brainstorming questions and thinking about how we can effectively share God's forever, Kingdom work all over the world.

Third: We received our first official donation towards the project. In the past, we have been hugely blessed to see how God's people can come together financially to support a project. We are still a bit floored that this opportunity is available to us; we know that not everyone will have the opportunity, but we are thankful for the ways we can partner with friends & family all over the US & World to make this a reality. We couldn't do it without your donations, or more importantly, your prayers!
