Morning, all!

Throughout our 2 days in Nicaragua, suffice it to say, we’ve heard a lot about the U.S. elections. Not negative, necessarily, just high volume. It’s also relevant to note that Nicaragua just finished their Presidential elections on Sunday.

The U.S. State Department had issued several low-level warnings about traveling to and around Nicaragua during these elections as there were a few contentious issues on the ballot here, but overall, things here were calm.

The staff of CEPAD discussed all this yesterday (Monday) morning during their morning devotional time, and as I was sorting through the Spanish, I realized the director had said she was thankful Nicaraguans could be an example to those in the United States of how to hold peaceful elections despite controversy. It was such a humbling reminder to my first-world brain that people all over the world keep an eye on us, and that, more importantly, the church all over the world prays for us.

So, know that as you go to the polls today, you go with the prayers of the world! All eyes are watching us. No pressure ;)
